Return Of The Robber Barons

Dear Editor:

I heartily agree with Dr. Paez, those Chinese Socialists are horrible: they have been opposing the Communist government for decades without success. Why, Hong Kong is a mess because of all the tear gas they throw back at the police. Wait, did you confuse Democratic Socialists with Communists?

You do know that there is no major American movement to nationalize major industries, no argument with the basics of free market economies. Just like a motor, however, the market needs a governor, i.e., regulation, to keep it from running amok. Your rhetoric was supposed to tie the Democratic Party to the Communist party of China. I’d say rather that the Republican party is trying to return to the era of robber barons.

By the way, it’s YOUR candidate for President who claims to be able to change the Constitution without due process, because he’s the President and can do whatever he wants. Even Communist Party Chairmen don’t claim that power. Don’t cry about the Electoral College, as long as your party continues gerrymandering and stealing representation. I’d like to think MY VOTE counted, not that of a party hack. Sure, politics in New York are the worst, except for all the other cities (ok, that’s a stolen phrase, tweaked a bit).

If you want to congratulate flag waving in Hong Kong, tell me why President Trump hasn’t addressed it? Because it will mess with his trade negotiations? Go home, Dr Paez, your wingback chair and slippers await.
