Barbara Anaya
Barbara Anaya died on Jan. 30.
Barbara was born in Brooklyn on Sept. 17, 1939, moved to Maspeth, Queens, and eventually settled in Rockaway, where she raised her family on the greatest family block on the whole peninsula, Beach 118th Street.
She worked as a nurse’s aide at Chai Home for Adults until its closure after Hurricane Sandy. She loved her job, her work friends, and all the residents she cared for.
In retirement, Barbara enjoyed shopping with her daughters, having cocktails on her porch, swimming, riding her red bike, and handing out candy on Halloween.
Barbara is reunited in heaven with her husband Ralph and countless family members who adored her.
She is survived by her four children, Tracy McEachern, Kelly Anaya, Kim Anaya, and Mark Anaya, ten beautiful grandchildren, five adorable great-grandchildren, and her parakeet Charlie.
She will be missed more than words can say.

Isabella M. Macleod
Isabella M. Macleod died on Jan. 28.
Isabella was born in Greenock Scotland in 1932. Shortly after her marriage to Finlay Macleod, the couple relocated to Australia, where Isabella gave birth to their two sons, Neil and Alan.
The family of four immigrated to the United States in 1968 aboard the last voyage of the Queen Mary. Upon embarkation, the Macleods soon made their home in the Rockaways.
After raising her boys, Isabella continued her education and became a radiologic technician, with a career that lasted over 25 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Finlay Macleod.
Isabella is survived by her two sons, Neil and Alan, her four grandchildren, Connor, Brendan, Andrew, and Abby, her daughter-in-law, Shannon, her siblings, James Egan and Morag Connell, and her grand-dogs, Luna, Bumbles, and Taz.
She will be greatly missed by the many who knew and loved her.
