The United States Postal Service has announced two upcoming changes to offer more value to postal customers.

According to a recent media release, these services will go into effect on January 27, 2013.

Starting on that date, for instance, customers will no longer have to purchase Delivery Confirmation to track a package. The new service is called USPS Tracking and is free. As per the USPS this is a savings of 75 cents on every package.

The Postal Service will now also be introducing Forever Stamps to international destinations.

Because of this, they advise, there will be “no more figuring out how much it costs. to send a letter overseas – ever again. The more you buy at the current postage rate – the more you save if postage increases in the future.”

Both of these new programs are expected to save USPS customers time and money.
