Firefighters were able to extinguish the all-hands fire quickly.

An all-hands fire tore through the fourth floor apartment of a family of four on Shore Front Parkway on Wednesday, March 22.

FDNY trucks and emergency units lined a smoke-engulfed Shore Front Parkway at around 4:10 p.m., outside of the Dayton Towers building located at 102-00 Shore Front Pkwy., and FDNY personnel could be seen breaking through a window of the fourth floor home.

“I looked outside and saw black smoke everywhere,” one neighbor said.

“I’ve never seen so many emergency vehicles in my life,” another resident told The Wave.

The fire was under control at approximately 4:20 p.m., according to the FDNY, and while no injuries were reported, the family writes on a GoFundMe page that “not a single item from their home was salvageable.”

“After school today, 8-year-old Julia… called for her mom and there on the terrace was a fire,” the ‘Wroblewski Family Apt Fire’ GoFundMe page reads. “Within minutes the flames engulfed the entire apartment. Thankfully Julia, her mom and her 4- year-old brother Kasper were able to get out safely. Their dad rushed home from work to be with his family. They will begin the morning with nothing except the clothes they had on their backs last night.”

Inquiries to the FDNY regarding the cause of the fire were not responded to by press time.

The family’s GoFundMe page can be found at gofundme.com/ WroblewskiFamily.
