Be Thankful

During the holiday season it is a good idea to take inventory of some things to be thankful for:

Mortgage rates are still low — 30 year fixed rate at 4.1% right now approximately (depending on your credit rating). This translates into a cost of $483/100K/month of money borrowed. Floating rate home equity notes are also near historic lows. If you are trying to sell your home, there is some comfort in that the supply of unsold homes on the Rockaway market has dwindled. This is due, at least in part, to some people taking their homes off the market. Also, many homes have been sold. I had a record year for sales of houses and co-ops in 2014. If you are trying to buy a home, then you can be thankful that prices are prices are down somewhat.

Be thankful that you live in Rockaway, Queens, in the U.S.A. — a truly wonderful place in a truly fabulous country. Be thankful if you and your family members have your health. As the actor Lee Strasberg said in the movie “The Godfather” (in his role as the gangster Meyer Lansky): “Good health is the MOST important thing.”

Call me. Love, Robin
