Neil Simon Play

The Bayswater Players are offering auditions on Tuesday, June 11 and Wednesday, June 12 for a Fall 2002 production of Neil Simon’s “Last of the Red Hot Lovers.”

Neil Simon’s “Last of the Red Hot Lovers” is the story of Barney Cashman who at the age of 47 wants to join the sexual revolution before it’s too late. First he tries a flaunting sexpot, then a kooky actress friend and, finally, his wife’s best friend. Barney was born to failure, and he fails in each of the three seductions. But in the failing is an extraordinary and charming play. It’s Neil Simon at his best.

The roles open include: Barney Cashman, age 47, a mild-mannered restaurateur, both Jeanette Fisher and Elaine Navazio are in their late 30’s, and Bobbi Michelle is a good-looking, ditzy, hyper, spacey “broad.”

The auditions will be held at Bayswater Jewish Center Theater on Dickens Street at Healy Avenue, Far Rockaway. Those interested should bring a headshot and resume, sides provided, or you may perform a short monologue if you wish.

Callbacks will be on Tuesday, June 18. Rehearsals will begin in mid-September, and there will be nine performances in November.

Please be advised that this is a community theatre production with no fee, no pay and multi-ethnic casting.
