A Special “Thank You” Of School Supplies Give-aways

Share this:

This upcoming mandatory in-school provision for the 2021-22 school year has parents seeking to know how they will be able to supply costs for afterschool, day care and healthcare. Included in these upcoming costs will be bookbags, school supplies and uniforms.

The Samaritan Hands Outreach Center of St. John Baptist Church, Dr. J. D. Williams, Senior Pastor, has provided needed assistance to residents of The Rockaway community for many years. Therefore, at the beginning of July 2021, Samaritan Hands sent out a request for bookbags and school supplies/or financial donations to alleviate some of the pressure of returning back to school and work for many financially challenged families in this community.

Surprisingly, The Rockaways and Five Towns community answered the call with unexpected results and The Samaritan Hands Outreach Center was able to aid its community and wishes to say “Thank You!”

Donations from Congressman Gregory Meeks, Assemblywoman Stacy Pheffer Amato, residents of Arverne by the Sea, Costco and Target in Five Towns generously supplied this community with items that families were grateful to receive. Monetary donations made it possible to share school supplies designed for Pre-K through High School students.

Samaritan Hands shared these donations with four other community churches and the Hammels Family Fun Day on August 21, 2021, at 84th Street and Rockaway Beach Blvd., Rockaway Beach, NY.

ALL contributors, the families of Rockaway Beach say “THANK YOU” for your community devotion of working together for the good of us all.
