The New York City Transit Department has notified the public of temporary service changes that will affect A line and Rockaway Park Shuttle service to the Rockaways on April 21-23, April 28-30, May 5-7, and May 12-14, 2001.

During these times, there will be no subway service from the Rockaway Boulevard station to the Rockaways.

Instead, special free shuttle buses will provide service between Rockaway Boulevard and the Rockaways. A special shuttle train will operate between the Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue and Beach 116 Street-Rockaway Park stations.

Customers must transfer to the shuttle bus at Beach 98 Street-Playland station to reach all other A Line stations.

Regular service will be provided to all A line stations at all other times.

The service changes will facilitate projects including the rehabilitation of the South Channel Bridge, track work on the North Channel Bridge, and station work at the Howard Beach-JFK station to facilitate the Port Authority’s AirTrain System.

For travel information, customers should call (718) 330-1234.
