Bring your appetite and brace yourself for some big flavors near the beach. The spring 2017 Taste of Rockaway Beach is upon us, just in time for NYC Ferry’s first official week on the water.

This spring’s Taste boasts a bigger than-ever list of local eateries and businesses, eager to offer a variety of delicacies on Saturday, May 6.

“I think that with all of these different businesses that are now entered in, it’s created a really awesome buzz,” said Taste of Rockaway Beach creator Robert Kaskel. “I think just by this creation of new businesses that are entering, plus the existing businesses, we’ve got something great going on.”

So far, the event participants include 101 Deli, A + A Chinese Cuisine, Beach Bistro 96, Bungalow Bar & Restaurant, Chicks To Go, Ciro’s Bakery & Pastry Shop, Coastal Frozen Yogurt, Community House, CROM Physical Culture, Elegante Pizza, Liquid Bread, Off Season, Pico’s, PollynAnna Boutique, Rippers, Rockaway Beach Bakery, Rockaway Beach Golf Club (after 4 p.m.), Rockaway Beach Veterinary Services, Rockaway Roasters, Sayra’s Wine Bar, Ship To Shore Wine Shop, Station RBNY, Surfside Bagels, Thai Rock, The Fat Cardinal Bakery, The Rock, The Swellife Fashion Truck, Uma’s, Uncle Louie G and Zingara Vintage.

Kaskel said that the non-restaurants participating will be offering food inside their establishments, like CROM Physical Culture offering eats from Pico and Off Season hosting food from Rippers.

“We’ve never been more prepared to start an event,” Kaskel said. “We’ve got the word out, we’ve promoted – this year’s sponsors are the Ladies of Bussiness Rockaway Beach along with Feel At Home Vacations, Lola Starr, St. James Clothing and Hornblower operating NYC Ferry (set to launch on May 1) – and all of these local business and organizations are starting to get it out there. So, it’s going to be something special.”

The event will take place on Saturday, May 6 from 12 to 6 p.m. All participant establishments are walking distance from each other and passes to the event can be purchased at each participating merchant for $15 in advance, $20 day of.
