Rise In Level 3 Sex Offenders Roaming Rockaway

A total of 55 registered sex offenders currently reside on the Rockaway peninsula, according to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, which provides a public, online database of all criminals convicted of sex-related crimes. That number is up from 48 registered sex offenders at this time last year.

The New York City Fire Department held a Bio Drill at its Beach 64 Street firehouse last Friday afternoon to see how fast it could provide life-saving inoculations to emergency personnel in case of a nuclear or biological attack. The Sea was more than angry this day, it was downright Furious. To reschedule the 14th annual Surf Fishing contest was quickly dismissed, when my 11-year-old son Joe reminded me, we were fishermen. Just when you believe that you've seen everything there is to see, the city comes up with a new twist that defines the old saw, "the gang that couldn't shoot straight." We were angered when the city painted out the right-hand lanes on both sides of Rockaway Beach Boulevard from Beach 126 Street to Beach 149 Street.
