Sean Prise was loading his private sanitation truck with garbage at East 3 Road and Cross Bay Boulevard at about 9:20 p.m. on Friday night when an SUV slammed violently into the rear end of the truck, virtually totaling the automobile, but doing little damage to his truck. Police say that Prise was backed in when Byong Lee, heading northbound on Cross Bay Boulevard slammed, into the parked truck. Lee told police that he didn't see the truck. He was pinned into his vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters from the Broad Channel Volunteer Fire Department, which was the first emergency unit on the scene. He suffered a fracture to his right leg, and was transported to the trauma center at Jamaica Hospital, where he was reportedly treated and released. Photos by Christopher Kalisak.
