An unidentified man, surfing at Beach 96 Street on Thursday morning, got caught up in the remains of the wood jetty and the ripcord that attached the surfboard to his leg was snagged on the rocks, holding him under water. FDNY divers quickly arrived on the scene and pulled him to the beach, but he was not breathing, sources say. EMS performed CPR on the man and he was quickly transported to the Peninsula Hospital Center. At press time, there was no news of his condition. Photo by Chris Kalisak. 002p1_xlg.jpg
