A grocery delivery truck driver took a road clearance sign at face value on Friday, December 4 and wound up wedging his large truck under the elevated subway line at Beach 106 Street. Police say that Albert Yoo, 42, of Williston Park on Long Island, was driving a tractor trailer truck belonging to Grocery Haulers of Avenel, New Jersey westbound under the el at about 12:15 p.m. on Friday when he noticed a sign that said there was 12 feet of clearance under the elevated roadway. What he did not know is that MTA crews had erected a cradle under the track roadbed as part of its station reconstruction project. That cradle lowered the roadbed about a foot, officials say, causing the driver to wedge the truck under the structure. Police from the emergency services unit came and deflated the truck's tires, lowering it enough for it to drive out under its own power. 015p1_xlg.jpg
