The ambulance crew from the Broad Channel Volunteer Fire Department responded, along with hundreds of other volunteer crews to the World Trade Center disaster on September 11. The ambulance was parked at the corner of Liberty and Rector Streets, across from Tower One. When the building came down, the ambulance was totaled, covered with wreckage and ash.
