The PS 256Q St. John's Lions upset number one seed Life Skills on May 28 to capture the 2009 Innovative Basketball Association Championship at Temple Beth-El. The Lions are made up of players who reside in the St. John's Boys Home in Rockaway Park. They participate in the IBA, a high school basketball league which consists of seven teams. The Lions lost twice to Life Skills in the regular season but won in the championship game, 57-54. St. John's finished with a 17-4 record. "I just couldn't believe it," said Antoine Morris, head coach of the St. John's Lions. "It's great." 087p1_xlg.jpg
