The first humid day of the summer season brought an Opening Day sellout crowd of 8,539 to Keyspan Park for the first home game of the Brooklyn Cyclones 2003 season. The Brooklyn Cyclones won against their borough rivals, the Staten Island Yankees, in a sloppy 7-4 win. Bob Keppel, the New York Mets’ first round pick in 2000, got the win to stretch his record to 2-0. The Yankees committed four errors in the game and the Cyclones made three.
