National Park Service volunteers from the Historic Aircraft Restoration Project were recently honored by NPS Director Fran P. Mainella during her visit to New York City. The HARP volunteers have been working for several years to restore historic military aircraft at Floyd Bennett Field. The aircraft collection, which is housed in Hangar B on the Jamaica Bay side of the field, is open for public tours this summer every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pictured, National Park Service Director Fran Mainella (center) presents a volunteer recognition award to the members of HARP.026p1_lg.jpg
