Students from classes 7-410 and 7-404 enjoyed a day out to view the Picasso/Matisse exhibit at MOMA, followed by a trip to Socrates Sculpture Park. The children had an opportunity to tour the museum under the guidance of a museum educator. They saw many examples of the contrasting work of Picasso and Matisse. It was the first time many of them had ever been to a museum. They went on to the outdoor sculpture park where they had the opportunity to see large 3-D pieces of artwork created by local artists in the city. Some students took photos, which will be used in an exhibit at the school in April. Pictured (left to right) Fahrida Sattar, Ruby Kinard, and Jennifer Thompson of class 7-404.
