Three graduating seniors, William Brown, Humanities & Arts H.S., Angelica Whitmore-Wright, Far Rockaway High School and Naomi Anthony, Far Rockaway H.S., with Patricia Rubens, Chief of Staff for State Senator Malcolm A. Smith. Each student received $500 scholarships towards their college education. The scholarship recipients were chosen based on meeting the qualifications that included two letters of recommendation (1 from a school administrator, 1 reflecting their community involvement), biography, proof of acceptance into an accredited college/university, and an official transcript reflecting 70% or above overall average.
