Fr. Richard C. Doscher, Sr., (center) Board of Managers, Episcopal Health Services, was honored recently by the United Hospital Fund at its annual Tribute to Hospital Trustees at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, South Shore, is the cornerstone of Episcopal Health Services. Fr. Doscher serves on the finance and pastoral care committees and is the rector of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church. The President of the United Hospital Fund, James R. Tallon, Jr., said, “The commitment of theses trustees to the hospitals they serve makes them a vital force in New York City’s rapidly changing health care system. They provide a unique perspective, combining sensitivity to local needs with a concern for quality and fiscal responsibility.” With Fr. Doscher in the photo are past Trustee Tribute honorees from EHS, Ronald O. Cole (left) and The Venerable Jerome J. Nedelka (right). Officials of the parent company said at the ceremony that SJEH-South Shore is the “Jewel” of the system.182p1_xlg.jpg
