Huguette Volmar, RN, a nurse at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, South Shore, and her husband, Louis Volmar, MD, co-authored a book entitled “Syliah Shares Her Love.” The book depicts the joyful life of young Syliah Volmar who died at the age of six and one-half years on Thanksgiving Day from cardiomyopathy while awaiting a heart transplant, surrounded by her family. The Volmars, including their son Daniel, age 10, recently held a book-signing at St. John’s to thank the Hospital staff for their support during Syliah’s illness. In the photo (from left to right), Lynore Dupiton, RN, Assistant Vice President of Patient Care Services, attended the book signing in St. John’s lobby. Many came to purchase signed copies of the book. For more information about “Syliah Shares Her Love,” please contact St.John’s at 718-869-7750. 045p1_xlg.jpg
