The Department of Parks once again angered many local residents by grooming the beach nearby Beach 113 Street by bulldozing under a row of natural dunes growing nearby the boardwalk. Experts says that the dunes are necessary to protect the homes along the peninsula, but Parks continues to distinguish between “legal dunes,” which are created by the department and “illegal dunes,” which are made by nature.
