Through wind, rain, snow and the heat of early summer, Mary Ellen Murray has manned the corner of Cronston Avenue and Beach 134 Street in Belle Harbor, keeping generations of PS 114 students safe and sound. Murray, who normally shies away from publicity, has been doing this job day-in and day-out for 30 years. That is why Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly recently presented her with an award for her years of service to the community. Photo by Howard Schwach. 003p1_xlg.jpg
