A wintry mix of precipitation last Thursday evening caused the driver of a Chrysler convertible to slam into a tree in the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, police said. Thomas Harrington, 22, of Bellerose skidded in the slush-slicked southbound lanes of Cross Bay Boulevard at about 5 p.m. - uprooting a tree and doing extensive damage to the car. Harrington was treated at Jamaica Hospital. The extent of his injuries was unknown.002p1_xlg.jpg
