The Peninsula Hospital Center Auxiliary celebrated the upcoming holidays at their monthly luncheon meeting on Tuesday, December 4. Guitarist Vera Powers was the highlight of the afternoon as she led a holiday sing-along. Sheila Schwartz, Auxiliary President, kicked off the festivities by welcoming Powers, along with Hospital Center President and Chief Executive Officer, Robert V. Levine and Vice President, Allan Corby. After the sumptuous holiday buffet lunch, members sang songs and then participated in the annual trimming of the tree and caroling at the Peninsula Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation. Additionally, many of the auxilians present at the meeting got together and presented a generous donation to the Hospital Center for its annual Children's Holiday Party. In addition to their monthly meetings, the auxilians sponsor an annual raffle and monthly bazaars, where they have been able to raise in excess of $25,000 over the past few years. The Auxiliary meets the first Tuesdays of the month for lunch at the Hospital Center. These meetings provide the membership a forum for the exchange of ideas, as well as educational and entertaining speakers. The Auxiliary also sponsors cultural and entertainment day trips, on occasion.
