Approximately 25 people attended a Queens Neighborhood Advisory Board public hearing on November 14 at the Goldie Maple Academy. The board came to hear the concerns of community members to help determine funding priorities for social services in the area from the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development. Issues included unemployment, lack of activities for young people and the issue of rezoning. Gary Hilliard asked, "You're talking about giving money to organizations - not about the community. What are we doing for ourselves?" Photos by Miriam Rosenberg 065p1_xlg.jpg
