The World Champion Karate Center in Rockaway Park put it’s best foot forward at the August 7 annual Night Out Against Crime. The Karate students range in ability from beginner to black belt and are ages 5 to Adult. All of the students took the event very seriously, and practiced for several weeks prior to the event. The students showed their ability in Kata (Forms), Kobudo (weaponry), and Kumite (sparring). There were many positive reactions to the kumi-Bo (fighting staff techniques) and the black belt sparring which was very quick and focused. Sensei Bruce Hodes did the referring exactly as he does at the AAU National tournament each year. This years demonstration team included Anthony Farina, Keon Mosley, Tosha Lau, Nicholas Marino, Dallas Lall, Dylan Kuzntz, Jalilah Alli, Alexandria Simos, Olivia Brown, Darrin Lamontica, Celeste Melaro, Grace Raymond, Esther Raymond, Aaliyah Jagnarian, Nicholas Simos, Michael Gribbetz, Jessica Daymond, Ann Fabela, Diana Kuzntz, Cameron Dooghin, Tyler Saloman, Hyven Charles. 73p1.jpg
