The elevators are up and running at the Mott Avenue subway station, good news for all, especially the elderly, disabled and women with baby strollers. The new elevator brings the station into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act which was passed in 1990. The elevator installation is part of a $117 million renovation of the Far Rockaway subway line that began in 2009. While work is complete at the Mott Avenue station, renovations continue at other stations along the line. Photo by Miriam Rosenberg. 29p1.jpg
