A handful of brave penguins took to the freezing water on January 1, at 10 a.m., off of Beach 126 Street. At swim time the temperature was 48 degrees and the water didn’t feel too much more than that. The ages ranged from 12 years old to more than 60 years of age. “We can’t wait to do it again next year,” shouted Eddy Mullins and Lou Maiocco, who claimed, “The water wasn’t bad at all.” Fun was had by all.
