The 10U Rockaway Renegades continued their rampage through the fall season of NY Travel Baseball on Saturday, sweeping a doubleheader from Our Lady of Guadalupe. The Renegades took the first game 18-0 behind the shutout pitching of James Byrne and Chris Koenig, and solid defense and hitting from the whole squad. Game 2 was more tightly contested as OLG played much better and the Renegades held a slim 5-3 lead through the fifth inning behind starter Timmy Connolly. Rockaway broke through for 6 runs in the top of the sixth with big hits from Chris Koenig, Robbie Rose, and Brian McDonald. Robbie Rose then closed it out with a perfect sixth inning. Web Gems were turned in by Jack Mulally at third base, and Brian McDonald in centerfield. The Renegades are now 6-0 on the season, and sitting solidly in first place. The roster includes James Byrne, Jack Casey, Timmy Connolly, Ryan Duffy, Chris Koenig, Liam Malsy, Brian McDonald, Ryan Meade, Jack Mullally, John Resker and Robbie Rose. The Renegades have a big doubleheader this Saturday at Ft. Tilden, 9 a.m. against Amity. Come down to root on our locals. 63p1.jpg
