On July 7, with hardly a notice from the Rockaway community, the workers at Dayton Beach Park went on strike for a new contract. They have been on the picket line ever since, through summer’s heat, an earthquake and a hurricane. On Wednesday night, the workers were joined by other union members from all over the city, as well as more than 100 tenant cooperators for a mass rally on Shore Front Parkway and Beach 86 Street. Workers say they are willing to talk about givebacks, but the coop board wants them out. Photo by Howard Schwach 2p1.jpg
