This week’s Historical Views reproduces a close-up view of Point Breeze, at the point of the Rockaway Beach peninsula, in 1916. Point pioneer Howard Reid was the publisher of the card, and many others of the early Point area in the first quarter of the 20th century. The man in the white shirt at the bottom of the flag pole (near center) resembles Senator John Kerr. But really, who is it? This postcard was sent by Chris and Olive, to Gladys Mathes, in Huguenot, NY. Does anyone recognize a bungalow or person in the photo of 1916? 40p1.jpg
