Warner Brothers studios was in Broad Channel and Far Rockaway to film scenes for their upcoming film, “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close,” starring Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock. The film, adapted from the 2005 book of the same title, is about Oskar Schell (Thomas Horn, pictured), a young boy who loses his father in the September 11 terrorist attacks. He finds a key in a strange envelope left by his father and believes this is an important clue left behind by him. As a result, he sets out on a journey around New York City to find the lock that it fits, meeting a cast of characters along the way. Horn, who has never been cast in a film before, received the role after his appearance on Jeopardy! Kids Week, in which he won first place and netted more than $31,000. Filming crews were in Broad Channel on Monday and in Rockaway at Beach 5 Street in an abanonded house near the ocean on Tuesday.
