The newly crowned CYO Diocesan Champions have added another title to their belt by winning the Frankie Caropolo Memorial Tournament held at St. Thomas Apostle in Queens. After defeating the host team in a semi-final matchup, they faced St. Helen of Howard Beach in the championship game. Tough defense and a fast break offense proved too much for St. Helen as S.C.V. pulled out a 69-63 victory. CK Obanya received the Frankie Caropolo Sportsmanship Award and Tyquan Murray and Shakury Reynolds joined him in the all-star game. Obanya, Reynolds and Sean O’Connell led the scoring in the tournament. Tristan Nevirs’ buzzer-beater in the semi-final was critical in getting his team to the chip.
