Customers coming to the Chase Manhattan Bank on Beach 116 Street last Saturday morning, August 15, were surprised to find the bank closed with a cryptic note on the door stating that there had been an emergency in the bank. Officials in the bank refused to provide any additional information, but The Wave has learned that the office suffered a grave electrical fault during last week's rain and lost all of its computers and other electrical equipment. At press time on Thursday, the bank remained closed. 027p1_xlg.jpg
