Additional Information For 55 years the East Midwood Hebrew Day School (Nursery through 8th Grade) has provided children with an excellent academic education, a nurturing and spiritual environment, a deep understanding of derech eretz and unshakable pride in their Jewish heritage and religion.

Our religious education communicates the great universal truths of Judaism. Our secular education prepares our students with the full range of skills they will need to face the realities of today’s knowledge-based and digitally-wired world. Over the years, our students gained admission to choice programs across the city from the Abraham Joshua Heschel High School to Brooklyn Tech and the Yeshiva of Flatbush High School. Many of our alumni have obtained great achievements in their chosen fields.

Two principles guide our work: a commitment to a rigorous education that will prepare our children for success and an acceptance of all Jewish families whether they are Sephardic, Ashkenazi, or from the countries of the former Soviet Union, the Middle East, North Africa or have long lived in the United States.
