Just like the all-time favorite show Sesame Street, the Pre-K students at St. Francis de Sales have days or weeks to honor the letters of the alphabet. On Friday, January 28, the students celebrated the letter Pp! What better way to make letters and literacy come alive than children wearing Pajamas to school and having a Pancake breakfast. Parent volunteers came to assist children in following a recipe to make pancakes and then all enjoyed eating them in their PJ’s. Children and parents then enjoyed a game of Bingo where everything on the card started with the letter Pp. There were songs and art activities focusing on the letter of the week. It wouldn’t be a literacy celebration without a story or two. Students sat on the rug while one parent read the classic tale, “If You Give a Pig a Pancake.” 58p1.jpg
