The ninth anniversary of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, was held last Saturday at Tribute Park on Beach Channel Drive at Beach 116 Street. There were two ceremonies, the first at 8:46 a.m. and the second at 7 p.m. At 8:46 a.m., a red rose was placed on the central compass for each of the locals who lost their lives that day. Pictured, flowers and a message left at the Firefighters Memorial on the Tribute Park site. For more photos, see pages 38 and 39. 002p1.jpg
