The Rockaway Artists Alliance opened ARTSplash 2010, its newest exhibition, in a big way with a lively reception in the T-7 gallery on Sunday, September 12. A sizeable crowd came out to view the work of over three dozen artists, meet some of the artists themselves, and enjoy refreshments and a variety of live music. Visitors were entertained by planned and impromptu performances by musicians Jackie Stellato, Dan Guarino, Danny Marsden, Arthur Skowron, the Sticker Dude and Gary Russo. Awards were also given out for best artistic works, with first time exhibitor Anne F. Clinton prominently featured in two categories. ARTSplash 2010 will be on view at Fort Tilden till Sunday October 10, with events planned throughout. InkSplash, an exhibition of New York printmaking artists, will be on view in the T-6 gallery from October 9 to November 7, with an opening reception on Sunday, October 10.
