Community Alert

On Tuesday, May 6, Captain Adelman, commanding officer of the 100th Precinct, issued the following alert.

“We are experiencing a rash of thefts from autos in the Belle Harbor/Neponsit areas, specifically from Beach 118th Street to Beach 145th Street. Unlocked autos are being targeted and property is being removed such as laptops, iPhones, iPods, wallets, credit cards, money, and bags. This is mainly occurring on the overnight hours.”

“We need everyone to make sure that their car doors are locked and their windows are closed. Immediately call 911 to report any suspicious persons or activity. The suspect(s) are walking down the blocks checking for unlocked cars.”

“If anyone is seen looking into a vehicle or pulling on a door handle, call 911 immediately. If anyone has video surveillance cameras on their house, please review them to see if you observe anyone walking by your property in the overnight hours. Please contact the 100th precinct Community Affairs at 718- 318-4233 if you have any information. Thank you.”
