Action Needed

Dear Editor:

During the course of the 23 + years living in Rockaway, I have been reaching out to congressmen, senators, etc. about the following issues. Do you think The Wave can help us throw it into the spotlight to move it along? Especially #3, my pet peeve as a runner. 1. I inquired about the trucks going down Beach 129th Street. There is and always had been a truck restriction on the block, just never enforced. I don't know if the truck route is down the 500 block of

Beach 129th Street or Cronston, but there is a restriction in place.

What we need to do is find out what it is and have DOT post signs. 2. There is a sink hole forming in from of the Yeshiva / Home on Beach

129th Street. I have put in a service request several times, nothing. A car is going to get swallowed up.

We need to investigate. Years ago they - whoever they are determined there was a pull from the water but it really has never been addressed.

It has gotten worse. 3. Bay Wall - opposite Riis Park. We need to reach out to someone, and soon. This is crazy. We are forced to run in the street, with all the crazy speeders coming from Rockaway and those cutting in from

Lawrence because of people who do not understand what NO STANDING means. And they are parking on the median in the road too!

IF you can wave your wand. Make some call - we need help!!
