Rockaway Wellness Partnership Kicks Off
The Visiting Nurse Service of New York (VNSNY) just kicked off its Rockaway Wellness Partnership (RWP) aimed to help community members adopt healthier lifestyles and connect with available healthcare services. It has been made possible through a recent $1.4 million New York State grant.
In collaboration with local community organizations, VNSNY’s Rockaway Wellness Partnership is designed to proactively help at-risk individuals and families to prevent or control illness.
Through health education, individual counseling, support groups and educational seminars; individuals and families will have access to customized health interventions addressing their personal needs.
In the last few months, RWP has been laying the groundwork for programming, partnerships and more and conducting health education talks on heart health.
The partnership is now getting ready to roll out talks on healthy eating, healthy movement/activity and flu.
The Rockaway Wellness Partnership will be at the following locations:
Stop and Shop (Friday afternoons 2:00-5:00 p.m.)
Key Food (Wednesdays 2:00-5:00 p.m.)
