Check Your Checks

Since the Sandy victims in Rockaway and Breezy Point have been the last to receive funds for the Sandy devastation, word is some checks have been mailed out to those who applied for relief to help cover their home damage. I would like to know how many received checks and their value. Please email me at address listed in The Wave.

It took a long, long time and lots of anguish for the victims of Sandy, but they are finally being recognized. I believe there is still time for those who did not apply for relief to do so ASAP.

There was a recent Coop Board meeting where some frustrated residents spoke out in defiance of the Coop’s practices. One objected to the fact there were no women on the Board of Directors. Another wanted more transparency of the $30 million dollars that was handed over to the Coop to be used to repair the damaged homes in the area. Where did that money go?? The residents did not get any accounting how that money was spent. They do deserve to know. A majority of the homeowners seem to want an investigation into this matter. And, why all the red tape to get electricity into the homes and stores before they are occupied? These matters need to be addressed, pronto!

We will spring to summer in no time. Let’s have a summer season to enjoy! Since many of you are sprucing up your home or rebuilding, I tried to pick up a few tips on home design at the Architectural Digest Design Show on Piers 92 and 94 in NYC. Some of those designs blow you away: bathrooms with walk-in tubs and saunas; kitchens with one hook faucet out of which flows a variety of coffees: latte, cappuccino, black and more; Baldwin knobs, hooks and hinges; beautiful chinaware, glassware and fresh spring flowers to add to elegant dining underneath an elaborate, glistening chandelier; sofas converted to double decker beds; Sonya contemporary rugs. A beautiful show and a must see if you are building and remodeling. Keep it in mind for next year.

The internet keeps growing and growing and we have to keep up with it, especially if you have a business or organization. Viacom invited heads of businesses and organization to a delicious learning luncheon at the Smith and Wollensky steakhouse and explained to them the fastest way to a seamless hybrid cloud. Well, actually a lot more than that. From what I could understand it speeds up data taking and retrieving and simplifies and organizes your business needs.
