YANA Music Night

Jammin’ Jon Kiebon (center) and friends at YANA Jammin’ Jon Kiebon (center) and friends at YANA Well-known Rockaway rocker Jammin’ Jon Kiebon and special guests filled the winter air with blues, folk, standards, punk originals and rock at the Rockaway Community Music Night at the YANA (You Are Never Alone) Center.

YANA founder Sal Lopizzo opened the community services office and training center on Saturday night, February 22nd. Those who came to the free event enjoyed refreshments, good company and great music. Some YANA clients also talked about their own hardships after Hurricane Sandy.

The community celebration went well into the evening as the unusually mild temperatures brought more people in and out of the center’s open doors.

The night’s performers included Jon Kiebon, Josh Levine, Joey “Pork Chop”, Don Turner, Steve Austen, Dan Guarino, Guy Nevirs and many others.

Obviously pleased with the night’s success, Lopizzo and Kiebon were already talking about making it a regularly scheduled feature.
