DOH Can’t Be Trusted

Dear Editor:

You know I don't get it, why would you tarnish the name of a business who might potentially advertise with you. I took some economics classes back in 1998 (wow, I'm getting old) and this was definitely not on the syllabus. You did it to Snug Harbor who advertised with you for 30 plus years and now to Playland Pizza. I just don't understand. This is a business trying to clean up the neighborhood, provide jobs etc!?

I’ve done my fair share of DOH inspections with my inspectors who by the way speak broken English or speak no English at all. They just nod their head side to side or up and down. He once told me that Uncle Ben's white rice by my stove was vermin and wrote me a fine for $1200. Last time I checked, mouse poop was black. Did you also know that when they don't find any food violations or temperature violations they miraculously become plumbing engineers and electrical engineers? It is also a fact that inspectors are rewarded when they write high violations. I know you are there to report the news but maybe a featured article should be made on how corrupt the DOH really is or the thousands of dollars that businesses in Rockaway donate to various charities, baseball teams, basketball teams, family in need etc...etc...

In conclusion before you try to tarnish the name of a business, just do a little homework on the city agency that is investigating.
