Praise For The CB

Dear Editor:

Sad to see a small turn-out at the Community Board (CB) meeting on 02/11/14. Both councilmen were MIA. Most disappointing was Mr. Richards’ absence especially since both proposals discussed affect the east end of the peninsula! Thank God for the 50 volunteers from the CB who are looking out for the best interest of the community. Though the services proposed by the Child Center of NY seemed like a needed service, the CB was not com- fortable with the location and it's the community that decides what goes in our backyard.

As for the 2nd proposal from IMPROVII, the CB asked the presenter to come back when she has an official proposal. I don't expect the presenter to return because we had a well prepared CB who did their homework and the presenter couldn't give straight concrete answers.

Again thanks to the CB for looking out for the east end! I would also like to express how I was overjoyed to run into Ms. Christsita, one of the Crisis Counselors from Project Hope! Those visits by Ms. Christsita and Joseph from Project Hope meant the world to me during my most difficult times. I wish the best to them in their future endeavors.

There was a very low turn out

There was a very low turn out for New York Rising on Sunday at the Bayswater Jewish Center Ballroom at 2355 Healy Avenue. Folks missed out on a wonderful opportunity to see the plans and have their voices heard. Valerie Kelly
