Arverne Library Gets Ready To Reopen


Severely hit by Hurricane Sandy, the Arverne Library is getting set to reopen on March 18th. This is the view from the inside after the storm. The Arverne Branch of the Queens Library at 313 Beach 54th street has been rebuilt and will reopen for public service on March 18th.

According to library officials, it has been fully refurbished, will have new computers, new furniture, new d├ęcor, and a refreshed collection of new books, videos and other library materials.

A grand opening celebration for the community will be scheduled in the near future.

Meanwhile, work continues at the Peninsula branch of Rockaway Beach Boulevard, which is expected to reopen later this year.
