Continuing Ed Comes To Beacon

Kingsborough Community College and Beacon Rehabilitation and Nursing Center are partnering to offer low cost training programs and educational and recreational workshops to the Rockaway community.

Kingsborough Community College’s Office of Continuing Education is providing the instructional staff and instructional material. Beacon will provide the space and program support at its facility at 140 Beach 113th Street in Rockaway Park.

Rockaway resident Susan Lavin, Continuing Education Coordinator at Kingsborough, is the Program Coordinator of the Rockaway educational initiative.

Kingsborough advises that class sizes are limited and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Upcoming Workshops will include:

Organization: The Challenges, the Solutions, and the Triumphs - 3/3 & 3/10 – 7-9 p.m.

Vision Board Workshop - 3/6 – 7-9:30 p.m.

Hypnotic Weight Loss - 3/13 – 7-9 p.m.

Stop Smoking with Hypnosis - 3/20 – 7-9 p.m.

Being in Balance Naturally - 3/24 – 7-9 p.m.

Preparation for Notary Public Examination - 3/26 – 7-10 p.m.

Ying and Yang - 3/31 – 7-9 p.m.

Tune Up Your Energy - 4/3 – 7-9 p.m.

Kingsborough and Beacon are also seeking suggestions from Rockaway residents for future classes and other training programs for the community.
