Sold! At RAA

Photo by Dan Guarino Photo by Dan Guarino Artist Lee Ann Lindgren poses with two of her works at the Rockaway Artists Alliance’s “Gifted” exhibition. Behind her is a mixed media piece by glass artist Renee Radenberg.

Lindgren’s oil painting “The Boat House” was one of the many works which sold during the showcase’s run.

An RAA spokesman noted that since reopening their galleries after the storm, the group’s records confirm that more exhibiting artists have sold more works than ever before.

The “Gifted” exhibition runs through this Sunday, January 19th. Gallery hours are Saturdays and Sunday from 12 to 2 p.m.

RAA’s next exhibition, “Mixed Media” invites artists to explore the possibilities in combining two or more different media to create new and unique forms of art. Entries may include, but are not limited to, melding such forms as stained glass, drawing, photography, sculpture, literary arts, painting, film/video, performance, kinetic art, watercolor, tactile art, assemblage and more.

“Mixed Media” will have an opening reception on Sunday, February 2nd and run till March 23rd.

Previous highly successful exhibitions this year have included “The Salon Show,” “ARTSplash,” an RAA kidsmART children’s exhibition, and “Calm, Storm, Rebirth,” a one year Sandy anniversary exhibition which featured more than 100 works of art.
