Edward Brown, a Manhattan florist, died on December 7th at age 84.
A Rockaway resident for more than 60 years, Brown is preceded in death by his wife, Brittana; parents, Wilford and Clarice Brown; daughters, Jeanette Hendricks and Patricia Brown; sisters, Jennie B. Wanza and Ester Brown; brothers, Raleigh Brown, Mozelle Brown and Alphonzo Brown; grandchildren, David Moss and Roberta Hendricks; great-grandchildren, Kevin Hendricks and Xavier Nashawn Brown-Rittenhour, sons-in-law, Robert Hendricks, George Geddings and Leonard Weekes. His loving sister, Queen Ester Brown joined him in Glory three days after his passing.
Brown is survived by his daughters, Clarice Ballard, Valerie Weekes, Edna Brown and Pamela Brown; sons, Edward Brown Jr., Clayton Brown and Richard Brown; sisters, Florence Hall and Mary Sullivan; brothers, Clarence (Barney) Brown, Fred Brown and Julius Brown; sisters-in-law, Ida Riddicks, Gloria Brown, Delores Brown, Marie Brown and Liz Brown; brotherin law, Eddie Cooper; son-in-law, Paul Ballard; daughter-in-law, Lisa Brown, 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney’s Funeral Home in Inwood.
